COMPLETE TRAIL SYSTEM
SIGNAGE - The Meridian OHV Park trail
system was professionally designed when the park was officially
established. Over the years changes have been made and our trail
system has undergone some major hurdles such as Hurricane Katrina.
During our 2009 riding year the MMA will be making some much needed
updates to our parks trail system. Some of these updates have
already began and some are still in planning. One major update that
we will be making is new signage for the entire trail system. Each
trail in our park will be receiving a trail name sign, directional
signs, loop signs, and rating signs. We will began installing these
sign during the first few months of 2009. Below is a sneak peak at
the signs we are purchasing and installing on our trail system.
SIGNS ARE IN AND WE HAVE STARTED
INSTALLING THEM. LOOK FOR THESE SIGNS ALONG THE TRAILS!
Originally the MMA had planned on using
trees as a cheap alternative for posting our new sign. Fortunately,
the MMA has had galvanized sign post donated to the club along with
the nuts & bolts needed to post the signs. A huge thanks to the
party who made this great donation!
2. ATV ADDITIONS
- The Meridian OHV Park ATV riders has grown
tremendously over the past few years. The MMA recognizes this and
plans to add some new ATV trails to our existing trail system. These
additions will include some winding wooded trails, mud holes, and
bogs. These additions are still in the planning stage and will be
implemented throughout the 2009 riding year. If you are a ATV rider
and are interested in helping with this portion of our trail
upgrades you should contact Jerry Corley and get your name added to
the volunteer list.
NEW BOOGEYMAN ATV LOOP IS COMPLETE. ATV TRAIL
DAY SCHEDULED FOR JULY 18TH TO BUILD MORE ATV TRAILS.
